HE’S DONE! 16 chapters, 360 pages. Submitted last Tuesday. Luz and Luis, the owners of the retreat I was staying at, treated us to a “dinner” Tuesday night. So we were celebrating Stephen’s accomplishment with new friends and a little sparkling wine from the Undegara winery. Very nice. I put dinner in quotes as it was, of course, the same meal as “tea”. But for special, occasions, crackers instead of bread, the cheese is in chunks, melon chunks substitute for the tomato slices and there is pâté instead of ham. The mashed avocado is, however, exactly the same. Meat and potatoes happen between noon and 3 pm.
We had much fun with them, the men laughing especially at the story Luz and I recounted of my trying to explain the word “exalted” as in “exalted tadasana”. (I’ve been teaching yoga for the inflexible.) it was pretty funny that to explain I assumed exalted tadasana, then broke into a few bars from the Hallelujah Chorus. It was, however, hilarious when we recounted how the dogs outside the studio joined in! Fun to laugh with friends in spite of language barriers. S, of course, chatted away. He was tired when it was done, but he’d had an impressive workout of his Spanish.
We’ve been away from wifi the past few days. We are making our way slowly south to return the casa rodante, stopping at mineral baths along the was. We’ve been to the Termal de Corazón and the Termal Colina, the latter with a huge swimming pool. Yay forward crawl!
Will be staying near Isla de Maipu next night or so. Lots of campgrounds and day camp places where folks go for group asado (barbq) and outdoor pools. Will likely not be online again until Santa Cruz later in the week.
We send love.
