The fish market in Arica. By 11:00 this strip of 20 or so stalls on the ocean side of the train station is vibrant with activity. Sellers carve pot roast size pieces of tuna from carcasses, bag small sacks of reineta heads for buyers planning soup, and call out the virtues of their several styles ceviche to passing pedestrians looking for a late breakfast made from the morning catch. Sacks of mussels and razor clams compete for space with octopus and dorado.
